In the heart of the realm lies the Sword of Goliath, stolen by Kazimir’s ancestor in a long-ago crusade. The holy relic is said to grant supernatural favor to whoever claims it, and their descendants. Every seven years in the dead of winter, the Sword is left unguarded.
Francesca knows her odds are slim. But if she can outsmart and outlast the other seekers, perhaps she can claim the Sword’s favor for herself, giving her young daughter and unborn son a future free of their father’s monstrous rule.
